TOWNSEND—From June 7 to 9, 2019 Haldimand hosted the Scout Canoe Camp in Townsend. There were some third-year Cubs, Scouts, and Rovers from Hagersville, Caledonia, Dunnville, Port Dover, London, and Stevensville attending this event.
The participants were trained on the Ontario Recreational Canoeing & Kayaking Association (ORCKA) Canoeing program. ORCKA promotes the development of safe, competent, and knowledgeable recreational canoeists and kayakers.
Congratulations to Jakob for earning his Safe Canoeing and to Matthew, Aiden, Gage, Simon, Liam and Owen for earning their Basic Canoeing Level 1 (Tandem). In addition to meeting the ORCKA requirements, the boys also earned their Scout Outdoor Adventure Paddling Badge. It was a fun-filled weekend.
Thanks to all the volunteers and instructors who made this camp possible.
