CAYUGA—Mayor Ken Hewitt (second from left) presented the proceeds from his annual Mayor’s Gala to six local charities on Monday, August 29, 2022. The charities included: Designing Routes to Education and Mentorship (DREAM), a Dunnville group which provides a four-year mentorship program for high school students, including tutoring and scholarships for those entering a post-secondary program; Senior Support Services, which provides activities for seniors and adults with developmental disabilities, along with relief support caregivers; Young Caregivers, which operates out of the Haldimand Abilities Centre in Hagersville and supports youth aged 15 to 24 actively caring for a loved one; the Haldimand Norfolk Literacy Council, part of Haldimand Norfolk London Learning Centres and offering adult literacy programs and professional development; Dunnville Youth Impact Centre, a Christian outreach program directed at youth; and Six Nations Community Food Bank, which supports over 420 households.
