BRANTFORD—Haldimand-Norfolk NDP Candidate Adrienne Roberts may be new to the political scene, but she has long held an interest in helping her community.
“This is my first experience as a candidate in an election, but my first memory about politics relates to my mother, who ran for School Board Trustee when I was a child. That memory I have of watching the poll numbers released has always been strong. She inspired me,” said Roberts.
Roberts is employed as a teacher with the Grand Erie District School Board. She has an active role in helping to connect schools with their communities through events and promotions, including a role as the Itinerant Experiential Learning Teacher with the board: “I worked with teachers to help connect students to a diverse number of businesses, sites, and industries within the region.”
She is also an active member in her local union, located in Simcoe, where she has worked on committees that offer support to important local resources like Haldimand Pride and Haldimand Nofolk Women’s Services.
