HALDIMAND—Local realtors Denise Postma and Deanna VanGroningen are teaming up to offer clients in Haldimand and the surrounding area a real estate service that is “experienced, genuine, and down to earth.”
That service is backed by almost 20 years experience collectively. Denise has been in real estate for 18 years, gaining valuable knowledge while working with her uncle before venturing out on her own four years ago. Deanna is newer to the business, having worked previously with Hamilton Health Sciences for 12 years. When her job was eliminated, she decided to take the real estate courses and earned her licence in September 2019.
The decision to work together came once Deanna knew it was the right career for her. It is something of a natural partnership as they are also sisters being Snyders by birth. They agree that having a partner in the business helps to achieve a good work-life balance, keeping both their clients and families happy. Denise brings years of experience and knowledge to the table and Deanna has the excitement and enthusiasm of being new, which makes Denise feel recharged.
Both realtors aim to do all they can to make their clients happy. When the market is busy, a typical work day is about 12 hours, but in reality the work doesn’t end there. According to Denise, “The business is always on your mind.”
Deanna concurs, “It’s not just the sale of the home, its staying connected with your clients, making sure their closing and move goes well, and keeping up on the market and technology.” They recently joined the real estate firm Remax Escarpment in Hamilton, a larger, family-owned company that offers the latest tools and technology to buyers and sellers.
Both agree that a good realtor must be patient and kind to do this job well, and you have to be ready for the evolving market, as it is always changing. Denise is confident in their ability to deal with challenges, giving credit to their parents, Clarence and Hazel Snyder. She says, “We were raised by problem solvers. You just don’t give up on situations that are difficult. Most times, problems can be figured out.”
They remind buyers that they can use any realtor to see any listing (not just the listing agent) and offer their clients a preferred buyers program that provides information as soon as a listing hits the market. This is very important when the market is moving fast, as it is now. These self-described “country girls who love Haldimand” focus their business in Haldimand and locations up to an hour outside the area, ideal for buyers coming into the county or moving to neighbouring communities. Together, the “Denise and Deanna” team is ready and eager to work with buyers and sellers as Denise says, “We are easy to reach and available anytime to accommodate our clients’ needs.”
The best way to reach them is by phone, Denise at 905-961-6171 or Deanna at 905-870-2139, or check out their website at deniseanddeanna.ca.
