CANFIELD—A registered nurse (RN) at Norfolk General Hospital (NGH) is urgently awaiting a lifesaving stem cell transplant, and she needs the community’s help. Shannon MacPherson-Adams of Canfield, 42 years old, was diagnosed with a rare form of cancer called acute plasma cell leukemia multiple myeloma shortly before Christmas. The Haldimand Press reported on her story in February as she needs a life-saving stem cell transplant, but she currently still does not have a match.
Her NGH family has launched an urgent plea for potential donors to come forward. The official name of the group is called Shannon’s Plasma Cell Mates.
