DUNNVILLE – The OPP are investigating following a collision that resulted in the death of a 77-year-old Haldimand County resident.
Just after 3 p.m. on May 16, 2024, police, firefighters, and paramedics were called to a collision on Niagara Street in Dunnville.
“It was determined that a pedestrian was struck by a sedan on private property,” stated a news release issued by Const. Andrew Gamble. “As a result, the pedestrian … sustained serious life-threatening injuries. They were transported to an area hospital, where they were later pronounced deceased.”
The news release also noted that “The driver of the involved vehicle remained at the scene.”
The West Region OPP Traffic Incident Management Enforcement (TIME) team is assisting with the investigation, and urges anyone with pertinent information to contact the Haldimand County OPP Detachment at 1-888-310-1122.
