FISHERVILLE—One person is in custody following an incident involving a barricaded person at a Fisherville home.
On April 6, 2025, at approximately 9:30 a.m., Haldimand OPP responded to an address on Erie Street, Fisherville.
Police contained the area with the support of the OPP West Region Tactics and Rescue Unit (TRU), Emergency Response Team (ERT), Canine Unit and Crisis Negotiators.
Members of the Haldimand OPP Major Crime Unit are assisting with the ongoing investigation.
A 47-year-old resident of Cambridge has been charged with the following Criminal Code offences:
- Sexual Assault
- Forcible Confinement
- Assault With a Weapon
- Uttering threats – Cause Bodily Harm or Death
- Mischief Under $5000
- Assault a Peace Officer
The accused remains in custody and will appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Cayuga on a later date.
