Charges laid in Caledonia collision

CALEDONIA—On July 23, 2024 around 4 p.m., the Haldimand OPP responded to a two-vehicle collision on Highway 6, near Caledonia.

The investigation determined that after the collision occurred, the driver and passenger of one of the vehicles allegedly fled the scene on foot. Minor injuries were reported. Both occupants were located, and one was taken into custody.

As a result of the investigation, a 24-year-old of Brantford has been charged with the following offences: Assault; Dangerous Operation; Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking; Possession of Proceeds of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5000; Fail to Comply with Probation Order; Failure to Stop after Accident.

The accused remains in custody and was to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Cayuga on July 30.
