CALEDONIA—One person is facing impaired driving charges after a concerned citizen reported a suspected impaired driver to Haldimand County OPP on a Sunday afternoon in Caledonia.
On Sunday, June 18, 2023, at approximately 2:40 p.m., officers with Haldimand County OPP responded to a traffic complaint at a commercial property on Argyle Street South in Caledonia. A citizen made observations that led them to believe a driver may be impaired and called police.
One person was arrested and transported to Brant County OPP detachment for testing.
Police have charged a 26-year-old from Haldimand with the following offences:
- Operation While Impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
- Operation While Prohibited – Legal Restriction from any other Act of Parliament or Provincial Law.
The accused has been released from police custody and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice located in Cayuga, Ontario at a later date.
