Driver speeding in Caledonia charged with impaired

CALEDONIA—On November 27, 2021 at 3:32 a.m. Haldimand OPP was on general patrol on Argyle Street North in Caledonia when they observed a vehicle driving above the speed limit. 

The vehicle was eventually stopped and while speaking with the driver, signs of alcohol consumption were detected. A prohibited weapon was located inside the vehicle. The individual was transported to the closest OPP detachment for additional testing. A 29-year-old of Stoney Creek is charged with:

  • Driving a motor vehicle while Impaired;
  • Driving a motor vehicle with more than 80 milligrams of alcohol in 100 millilitres of blood;
  • Possession of Weapon for Dangerous Purpose; and
  • Unauthorized Possession of Weapon.

The accused is to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Cayuga at a later date to answer to the charges.
