Driving complaint at drive-thru leads to impaired charges

DUNNVILLE— On November 18, 2022 at 10:58 p.m., members of Haldimand OPP conducted a traffic stop in the drive-thru lane of a restaurant located in Dunnville. While speaking with the driver, signs of alcohol consumption were detected. The driver was transported to the closest OPP detachment for additional testing. As a result of the investigation, the accused from Dunnville was charged with:

  • Driving a motor vehicle while impaired
  • Driving a motor vehicle with more than 80 milligrams of alcohol in 100 millilitres of blood.
  • The driver’s licence was suspended for 90 days and the vehicle was impounded for seven days.
  • The accused is to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Cayuga at a later date to answer to the charges.
