Drug possession charge following traffic stop

HAGERSVILLE—Haldimand OPP has charged a 46-year-old driver with drug possession following a recent traffic stop in Hagersville.

On Tuesday, January 19, 2021 at 9:56 p.m., OPP responded to a traffic complaint in the area of King Street in Hagersville. OPP located the vehicle and conducted a traffic stop on Mary Avenue, where they investigated.

While police spoke with the driver, illicit drugs were located inside the vehicle. Also located within the vehicle were several drug paraphernalia items.

OPP has charged a 46-year-old male of Hagersville with Possession of a Schedule I substance – Methamphetamine.

The accused is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Cayuga at a later date to answer to the charge.
