Four injured, one charged in dump truck collision

HALDIMAND—Four people sustained non-life-threatening injuries following a collision between a passenger vehicle and a commercial motor vehicle (dump truck) northeast of Hickory Beach in Haldimand. On August 25, 2023 at approximately 3:45 p.m., Haldimand OPP responded to a report of a two-vehicle collision at the intersection of Sandusk Road and Rainham Road.

The driver of the passenger vehicle sustained serious, but non-life-threatening injuries and was airlifted to hospital in Hamilton for treatment. A passenger in the vehicle was also airlifted to hospital as a precaution. The driver of the commercial motor vehicle was uninjured.

The driver of the passenger vehicle, a 39-year-old individual from Waterloo, has been charged under the Highway Traffic Act with Fail to Yield to Traffic.
