Impaired charges laid in Caledonia

CALEDONIA—On January 17, 2024 at approximately 2 p.m., the Haldimand detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a report of a possible impaired driver on Argyle Street in Caledonia.

Police located the vehicle occupied by only the driver, parked at a business.

Upon speaking with the individual, it became obvious that they had consumed alcohol.

The driver was placed under arrest and transported to the OPP detachment for testing.

As a result, a 41-year-old of Caledonia has been charged with the following Criminal Code offences:

  • Operation While Impaired
  • Operation While Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration (80 plus)

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Cayuga on February 27, 2024.
