CANBOROUGH—On April 23, 2023 at approximately 1:45 p.m., the Haldimand detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) arrested a driver on Highway 3, Canborough Township.
While on general patrol, police observed a vehicle travelling at what appeared to be a high rate of speed and a traffic stop was initiated.
While interacting with the driver, it became apparent to the officer that the driver had consumed alcohol. An Approved Screening Device (ASD) was administered, and the driver was taken into custody for further testing.
As a result of the investigation, a 47-year-old of Dunnville was charged with the following offences:
- Operation While Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration (80 plus)
- Speeding
The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Cayuga on a later date.
