Impaired driving and drug charges laid in Hagersville

HAGERSVILLE—On Saturday, June 5, 2021 at 11:28 p.m., OPP responded to King Street East in Hagersville for a report of a traffic complaint. OPP located the vehicle involved where they spoke with the driver.

While speaking with the individual, signs of impairment were detected and the driver was placed under arrest. During the investigation, a quantity of illicit drugs and drug paraphernalia were located in the vehicle, which resulted in the arrest of the passenger.

OPP has charged a 27-year-old of no fixed address with operating a motor vehicle while impaired by drug. OPP has also charged a 46-year-old of Hagersville with two counts of possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking. Both accused individuals are scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Cayuga at a later date to answer to the charges.
