Impaired motorcycle driver faces 10 charges after hitting pedestrian

HAGERSVILLE—Haldimand OPP has charged a 19-year-old driver with impaired driving and multiple Provincial Offences after a pedestrian was struck by a motorcycle on Jane Street in Hagersville.

On Wednesday, June 17, 2020 at 7:48 p.m., OPP, Haldimand County Fire Services, and Haldimand County paramedics responded to Jane Street for a collision involving a motorcycle and a pedestrian. A witness reported the motorcycle driver had appeared to have fled the scene but had since returned.

The pedestrian was not injured as a result of the collision.

Police spoke with the motorcycle driver and detected signs of impairment by alcohol.

The driver was placed under arrest.
