OPP Brief: Impaired charges laid on Highway 6

HALDIMAND—Two drivers are facing court dates for alcohol related driving offences in Haldimand County.

On March 29, 2026 at approximately 7:20 p.m., Haldimand OPP responded to a single vehicle collision on Highway 6.

A 58-year-old from Hamilton has been charged with the following offences:

  • Operation while impaired;
  • Dangerous operation;
  • Owner operate a motor vehicle without insurance;
  • Fail to surrender permit for motor vehicle.

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Cayuga on April 14.

On March 30 at approximately 7:30 p.m., Haldimand OPP officers responded to a two-vehicle collision on Richard William Drive in Caledonia.

A 23-year-old from Cayuga has been charged with the following offences:

  • Operation while impaired;
  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration 80-plus.

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Cayuga on May 5.

As of publication, the charges have not been proven in court for either of the individuals mentioned.
