HALDIMAND—On the evening of May 27, 2026 at 7:40 p.m., Haldimand OPP officers were called to attend the Rattlesnake Road area regarding a vehicle driving erratically. As a result of the investigation, police arrested and charged a 63-year-old Haldimand resident with:
Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration over 80.
Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs.
The accused was released and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Cayuga on July 7. The charges have not been proven in court.
The OPP continues to prioritize road safety through proactive enforcement and public education. Impaired driving – whether by alcohol or drugs – and distracted driving are leading causes of serious collisions and fatalities on Ontario roadways.
