OPP Brief: Two teens charged in Hagersville robbery

HAGERSVILLE—Two teens have been charged following a robbery investigation in Haldimand County.

On Thursday, January 29, 2026 at approximately 3 p.m., members of the Haldimand detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a report of a robbery that occurred earlier in the day on Alma Street in Hagersville.

The investigation determined that a group of youth crossed paths at approximately 1:30 p.m., and two of the youth demanded money from two others while brandishing a weapon. No injuries were reported.

Two 14-year-olds have been charged with robbery with a weapon.

Both accused, whose identities are protected under the Youth Criminal Justice Act, were released from police custody and are scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Cayuga on a later date. The charges have not been proven in court.
