HAGERSVILLE—On January 18, 2022 at 3:23 p.m., Haldimand OPP responded to a report of possible mischief that occurred sometime during the day at a residence on Carrick Street in Hagersville. The homeowners returned from work and noticed damage to the blinds and window of their residence. The damage indicated a trajectory had entered the residence from the outside. Police were called in the event the damage had been caused by a bullet from a firearm.
Further investigation revealed that the damage was caused by an object of low velocity, more than likely the result of a chip or stone launched from a nearby snow plow.
There was no evidence to indicate that a firearm had been discharged. No one was injured as a result of the incident.
