OPP warn to lock unattended vehicles

HAGERSVILLE—Haldimand OPP is investigating two thefts related to unlocked vehicles. The first was a laptop from a vehicle parked in the driveway of a residence in Hagersville. The second was vehicle stolen from a local business in Hagersville while the owner went inside for just ten minutes.

The OPP want to remind everyone to take valuables with you when you leave your vehicle or put them out of sight. All vehicle owners/passengers can take some simple steps to decrease the risk of being victimized.

This includes: never leave a running vehicle unattended; lock your doors; pocket your keys; alarm your vehicle if equipped; roll up your windows; keep valuables out of sight; always park in a well-lit area
