Single motor vehicle collision leads to impaired charges

CALEDONIA — On January 1, 2022 at 12:38 a.m., the Haldimand OPP responded to a single vehicle collision on Sterling Street in Caledonia. While speaking with the driver, signs of alcohol consumption were detected. The individual was transported to an OPP detachment for additional testing. 

A 37-year-old of Caledonia is charged with the following offences:

  • Driving a motor vehicle while impaired
  • Driving a motor vehicle with more than 80 milligrams of alcohol in 100 millilitres of blood.

The accused is to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Cayuga at a later date to answer to the charges.
