Single-vehicle collision leads to drug charges

HAGERSVILLE— Haldimand County Fire Services and Haldimand County Emergency Medical Services responded to a single motor vehicle collision on Sherring Street south in Hagersville.

While speaking with the driver, signs of drug consumption were detected.

As a result, the accused is charged with the following offences:

  • Driving a motor vehicle while impaired by drug
  • Possession of a Schedule one substance for the purpose of trafficking – Cocaine
  • The driver’s licence was suspended for 90 days and the vehicle was impounded for seven days.

The accused is to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Cayuga at a later date to answer to the charges
