Single vehicle collision results in impaired charge

NANTICOKE—The driver of a motor vehicle involved in a collision was charged with impaired driving. 

On May 25, 2024 at approximately 12:25 a.m., Haldimand OPP received a report of a single vehicle collision on Haldimand Road 55, Nanticoke. 

The vehicle was located and when police spoke with the driver, they had reason to believe the driver had consumed alcohol.

An Approved Screening Device (ASD) was administered and as a result, the driver was taken into custody for further testing.  Ultimately, a 26-year-old of Hagersville has been charged with:

  • Operation While Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration (80 plus)

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Cayuga on June 25, 2024.
