Traffic stop results in drug charges for three people

HAGERSVILLE—Three individuals were charged with drug-related offences following a traffic stop in Hagersville.

On Thursday, November 2, 2023, at approximately 8:35 p.m., members of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Haldimand/Norfolk Community Street Crime Unit stopped and investigated a motor vehicle at an Indian Line Road, Hagersville address.

As a result, officers took three individuals into custody and seized a quantity of suspected cocaine, along with Canadian currency and drug paraphernalia.

Charged with the following offences is a 41-year-old  of Brant County:

  • Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – cocaine,
  • Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime under $5,000 – in Canada.
  • Charged with the following offence is a 41-year-old of Haldimand County:
  • Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – cocaine.

Charged with the following offence is a 34-year-old of Haldimand County:

  • Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – cocaine.

All of the accused are scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice located in Cayuga on Tuesday, December 5, 2023.
