Traffic stop results in drug charges

DUNNVILLE—Haldimand OPP has charged two individuals with drug offences following a traffic stop on Queen Street in Dunnville on June 2 at 12:50 p.m.

A check on the operator of the vehicle revealed that they were a suspended driver, and during the search incident to arrest, a quantity of suspected cocaine and a large quantity of Canadian currency was located.

OPP has charged a 55-year-old of Dunn-ville with Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking – Cocaine.

A check on the passenger revealed that they were wanted on an outstanding arrest warrant in Haldimand County. A 38-year-old from Dunnville was arrested at the scene and also charged with Possession of a Schedule 1 Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking – Cocaine.

The accused individuals are scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Cayuga at a later date to answer to the charges.
