Vehicle stop results in Traffic Act offenses

HAGERSVILLE—A member of Haldimand OPP has charged a motorist with several Highway Traffic Act offences after conducting a vehicle stop in Hagersville on Tuesday, January 25, 2022 at 12:24 a.m.

As a result of the traffic stop, police arrested a 43-year-old person from Hagersville on two outstanding Provincial Offence Act warrants. 

The individual was also charged with the following Highway Traffic Act offences:

  • Operate Unsafe Vehicle
  • Drive While Under Suspension
  • Drive Motor Vehicle, No Currently Validated Permit
  • Obstruct Plate
  • Fail To Have Insurance Card
  • Use Defaced Plate
  • Use Plate Not Authorized for Vehicle

The individual was served with three summons and held for a bail hearing. They are to appear at the Provincial Offences Court in Cayuga at a later date to answer to the charges.
