HALDIMAND—For the first time in 10 years, Haldimand County Council approved an increase in parking fines. Council will now send an application of the proposed fines to the Ministry of the Attorney General for final approval.
Once approved, parking set fines will range between $50 and $350 depending on the offence. Minor offences include things such as parking the wrong way ($50) on a street and parking longer than 48 hours in a marked area ($50).
More significant fines include parking a heavy vehicle in a prohibited area ($175) and parking in a disabled parking spot without a permit ($350). The minimum set fine for parking in a disabled spot without a permit in Ontario must be over $300.
