Police seek information about fatal collision in Selkirk

SELKIRK—One person has died following a motor vehicle collision in Selkirk.

On Monday, November 25, 2024, at approximately 5:55 a.m., the Haldimand detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), along with Haldimand Fire and Paramedic Services, responded to a motor vehicle collision on Rainham Road, just east of Selkirk, where a pedestrian had been struck on the roadway.

The pedestrian, a 74-year-old from Selkirk, was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Members of the West Region OPP Traffic Incident Management and Enforcement (TIME) Team are assisting with the investigation.

Rainham Road was closed between Haldimand Road 12 and Isabella Street for the protection of emergency responders and to facilitate the investigation. It reopened that day.
