JARVIS—The Friends of the Jarvis Library are pleased to announce that they are having a ‘Sweet Surpirse’ book sale to raise funds for the library in Jarvis. Purchase is by donation. These gaily gift-wrapped books are new or almost new, ready for your Christmas gift giving. Attached to the outside is a short synopsis about the book and the genre, but no mention of book title or author’s name, so it really is a “sweet surprise”. In some Scandinavian countries it is tradition to give and receive books on Christmas Eve and spend that evening reading their new books. Wouldn’t that be a great tradition to start with your own family? The sale is open during Jarvis Library hours: Monday 12-8 p.m.; Thursday 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.; Friday-Saturday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.; and closed Sunday, Tuesday, and Wednesday. —Submitted photo.
