CALEDONIA—Over 19,000 signatures have now amassed in the online petition asking the Ministry of Transportation (MTO) to reconsider its design for the new Argyle Street Bridge over concerns for how the steel design could stop the current large colony of Cliff Swallows from nesting there.

As previously reported, resident George Naylor is the man behind the petition and he is now working with a team of people to present an alternative plan to transform the current bridge into a community hub, with the new bridge located upstream.
