HALDIMAND—With so many people working from home, many are finding their internet service is suffering from being overloaded.

Kassandra O’Brian and her husband, who live just outside of Hagersville, are facing new issues since the company they were with, Detour Wireless, was bought by Xplornet. Customers of Detour Wireless were transitioned to Xplornet on August 25, 2020.

O’Brian received her first notice of the transition on July 24. Another reminder came on August 17. Both times she was assured that her current internet plan and fee would not change and there would be no changes to her service. The website states, “We’ve designed the transition to be as seamless and easy for you as possible.”
