HALDIMAND—For the first time, the Haldimand RiverCats organization has a Novice B girls hockey team. In December, the girls traveled to Woolwich to participate in the Woolwich Wild Shootout Tournament. The girls finished the round robin portion of the tournament in third place. This set up a semi-final game against the second place host team, Woolwich Wild.

It was a tight game, but a late goal by the RiverCats secured a 2-0 win. As a result, the girls advanced to the championship game against first place Owen Sound who they had previously lost to 6-3 in round-robin play. In a back and forth exciting final game, the girls worked extremely hard and played great team defense. A late goal in the second period put the RiverCats up 1-0. In an intense third period the girls were able to keep Owen Sound off the scoreboard, winning the final game 1-0 to capture the Woolwich Wild Tournament. Congratulations!
