HAGERSVILLE—Ron’s No Frills and its customers raised $4,700 that will go toward the purchase of vital medical equipment for West Haldimand General Hospital (WHGH).
“When everyone gives what they can, we are able to accomplish so much good for the hospital,” said Lisa Hostein, Executive Director of the West Haldimand Hospital and Healthcare Foundation (WHHHF).
She added, “I want to thank our incredible community partner, Ron’s No Frills, for carrying out this campaign, which will help purchase life-saving equipment that will help frontline staff continue to provide exceptional patient care.”
The $4,700 donation from the Ron’s No Frills campaign will go toward securing a Coagulation Analyzer, which is used to test for potential heart attack-inducing blood clots.
“It’s not myself or my staff who made this donation, it is our amazing customers who made this contribution, and they are giving it to everyone in the community who will require care at the hospital,” said Ron Fairburn, store owner. “I have used the hospital, and so have my family members, and I know firsthand of the excellent work they do for our community. The staff at WHGH are just phenomenal, and anything we can do to help the community and give back to the hospital, we are more than happy to do.”
From Friday, July 15 to Monday, August 1 cashiers at Ron’s No Frills collected donations at the tills to help WHGH purchase the Coagulation Analyzer.
During a similar fundraiser last year, the team at Ron’s No Frills raised more than $5,600 to help WHHHF purchase medical equipment for the hospital. In June, Ron’s No Frills generously donated a meat smoker, which hospital volunteers raffled off. It raised an additional $3,000 for WHGH.
