Because an Amaryllis bulb is often a holiday gift, unfortunately it may be viewed as a one-time flowering house plant and discarded. It is extremely easy to have this bulb produce gorgeous flowers each winter for years to come, giving its owner something to continue bragging about!
Once the flower wilts and dies down, trim the flower stalk to within 3 centimetres of the bulb. This allows food to go to the bulb for its next flower. Continue to treat it as a house plant until frost has past.
