Seasoned Souls gathers again in Jarvis

JARVIS—Seasoned Souls made a triumphant post-pandemic return last week at the Jarvis United Church. Sing-Capella performed for the entertainment portion of the evening. This quartet of harmonious vocalists kept the cold dark night at bay for just a while longer. The ensemble, who has been singing together for five years, sang glorious renditions of Christmas carols such as “Do you hear what I hear” and “Silent Night”, along with a hair-raising performance of the First Song of Advent, which was sung in part in Latin. Reverend Kim Shantz of the United Church was unable to attend, but the group certainly included her and sang Happy Birthday to her as the audience became the choir.

A team of volunteers graciously prepared a hearty supper of roast chicken, beets, hash browns, and carrot salad. At right, Grace DeVries, Darlene Smith, Norma Booker, and Marg Gilbertson all ventured out from Hagersville to enjoy a ladies night out. They were all smiles and enjoyed the performance immensely. Seasoned Souls hosts a variety of entertainment on the fourth Friday of every month. Anyone 55+ and their guest is welcome and can contact Ruth McBride at 519-587-2936 to find out more about the upcoming events.
