HALDIMAND—2020 has brought many challenges connected to COVID-19, yet Senior Support Services has done exceptionally well in staying committed to providing assistance to local community members, seniors, and adult persons living with disabilities.
During the pandemic, the organization continues to support people with meal deliveries, transportation, home maintenance, friendly visits, and security checks while following strict COVID guidelines mandated by the government. Programs such as the Adult Day Program, Hospice Palliative Care, Caregiver Support, and Safety at Home gradually became operational, providing much needed support for community members. In addition to assisting local community members, in September the organization’s Adult Day Programs in Dunnville, Hagersville, and Simcoe became DementiAbility certified to further improve the well-being, success, and independence of active participants.
