SIMCOE — Jersey Canada held its Annual General Meeting recently in Levis, Quebec. Norfolk County’s Meadow Lynn Farms was the recipient of two national awards.
Thomas and Sarah Judd were named as one of three recipients of the National Jersey Young Achievers for 2023. Meadow Lynn Farms of Simcoe was also awarded the Jersey Canada Master Breeder Award of 2023.
This honour is awarded annually to an eligible farm; points are earned for breed advancement in production and type. It recognizes long term excellence in breeding Jersey cows. The award encompasses 20 years of data. It can only be won once in this time frame.
Meadow Lynn Farms has been breeding Jersey cows in Simcoe for four generations, since 1946.
This is their first Master Breeder Award. Sharing this honour is K. Fred and Sharon Judd and Thomas and Sarah Judd.
