Soup ‘A’ Bowl raises $4,000 in 10th anniversary
CAYUGA—Haldimand Motors hosted the 10th annual Soup ‘A’ Bowl on Friday, February 1, 2019. The event was created to help local Haldimand food banks as visitors bring non-perishable donations and purchase food with all proceeds going to the food banks. This year they raised $4,000. Shown is Debb Davies, owner of Debb’s Cuisine, and Jenny Prucha serving up some traditional Mexican posole soup to Kathy Gee of Selkirk. This posole was made with hominy (coarsly ground corn), pork, roasted poblano peppers, and more. Gee, who has been coming since the first Soup ‘A’ Bowl, said, “It’s a great event and wonderful to support the community.”
