CALEDONIA—It may have been a mild day with no snow (or rain) in the forecast, but Caledonia showed its Christmas spirit Saturday, November 26, 2022.
Breakfast with Santa [masterslider id=”193″]
The day started with Santa at the Riverside Exhibition Centre for the Mary Poppins Co-Operative Preschool and Caledonia Agricultural Society’s annual Breakfast with Santa. This year’s event had two seatings with over 400 people visiting with Santa and enjoying a delicious breakfast thanks to 20 volunteers who are parents from the preschool or members of the Agricultural Society. This year there was a table of stuffed animals for children to take home.
Organizer Nicole Blomkvist said, “We were definitely very happy with how successful the event was!”
Blomkvist thanked those who donated to the event and added “a very big thank you to the community for coming out and supporting two local non-profit organizations!”

Following the breakfast everyone was invited to watch the Caledonia Santa Claus parade, which started at Nicholson & Cates and followed Argyle Street, southbound, turning onto Haddington Street and ending at McKinnon Park Secondary School. There were over 40 parade entries this year and non-perishable food donations were picked up by the Caledonia Fire Department for the area food banks.
Christmas Market [masterslider id=”195″]
Following the parade, some residents took in the Caledonia Christmas Market, hosted by the Caledonia Agricultural Society at the fairgrounds, where there were over 50 vendors selling a variety of holiday-themed goods and gifts.
