HAGERSVILLE—Recently Grade 6, 7, and 8 students at St. Mary’s and Hagersville Elementary schools competed very strongly in the annual Lions International Peace Poster Contest. The contest is open to young people around the world and results in some extraordinary art work. The theme changes yearly and this year was “Lead with Compassion”.  The photos above and below show the winners from each of three classes. At the next level, District A-2, the Hagersville schools had no winners but narrowly lost to excellent entries. Congratulations to the school’s winners: St. Mary’s Grade 6/7 Class (Mrs. Dunnigan): First Sophia Reicheld, Second Brooklynn Dyck-McSkimming, and Third (tie) Reese Anderson and Zino Edeki; St. Mary’s Grade 7/8 Class (Mrs. McDonald): First Julianna Rossi, Second Canadeen Saguid, and Third Jill Michael; Hagersville Elementary Grade 7 Class (Ms. Sibbett): First Elyssa Potts, Second Silus Klingspor, and Third Matthew Tivendell.
