Tee off for Road to Recovery

DUNNVILLE—Road to Recovery Hald-imand is hosting a golf tournament and live auction on Thursday, August 22, 2019 at Freedom Oaks Golf Club (612 Sandy Bay Rd., Dunnville). Registration and payment of entry fee ($400/team) is due by August 15.

All proceeds will be used to bring one of the four RedPath Programs to our community. The Addictions Treatment Program of RedPath aids participants in discovering the root causes of their addiction and helps them to develop tools to manage in their own lives. The RedPath model is an innovative solution based on native philosophy and is adaptable to community-based programming.

Addiction is a complex health and social issue, causing harm to individuals, families, and communities. Costs related to addiction and substance use are rising in Canada. For example, hospitalizing people with substance use disorders cost $267 million in 2011, an increase of 22% from $219 million in 2006. However, recovery from addiction is possible when people have access to quality, evidence-informed services and supports.
