CALEDONIA—Students, educators, and community members came together to celebrate the official grand opening of two new schools built through a joint partnership in Caledonia. Both Grand River Public School, operated by the Grand Erie District School Board, and the Pope Francis Catholic Elementary School, operated by the Brant Haldimand Norfolk Catholic District School Board, opened classrooms last month. Shown above are members of the Grand River Herons cheer squad getting the crowd pumped up at the grand opening on the evening of Monday, October 6, 2025. See next week’s edition for a full breakdown of the event and more photos of the new schools.     —Haldimand Press photo by Mike Renzella.Â
