TOWNSEND—COVID lockdowns may be interfering with many events and fundraisers in the community, but it’s not enough to stop the Townsend Lions Club from running their annual Walk for Dog Guides, even if there cannot be a large group event like normal.
Angela Payne, Marketing Co-ordinator for the Townsend Lions, explained how the event came to be: “About three years ago we started doing it in Townsend. We have the really nice paths and trails…. With COVID it’s a little bit different, a little more virtual where we don’t have a meet up. You do it on your own but still raise the funds and do the walk wherever you are.”
