HALDIMAND—On Saturday, September 28, 2019 a 70-year-old female died in a car accident in Hagersville and the following day a 39-year-old woman died in a Utility Terrain Vehicle (UTV) accident in Cayuga.
At 3:15 p.m. on Saturday, OPP, Haldimand Fire, and paramedics were called to Concession 12 Walpole for a single-vehicle collision.
OPP investigation determined a pickup truck was travelling eastbound on Concession 12 Walpole when it left the roadway on the right shoulder, struck a culvert, and came to rest against a utility pole.
The 70-year-old female driver was unresponsive and there were two children in the rear seat. The driver was transported to a local area hospital with life-threatening injuries, where she was later pronounced deceased. The identity of the deceased is not being released at this time.
