HALDIMAND—With several developments in progress through the county, Haldimand’s growth shows no sign of slowing. Council has received official applications for the development of two more large-scale developments recently, with one in Hagersville and the other in Caledonia.

The first is from Empire Communities, dubbed the Smith Farms subdivision, and aims to build up to 499 new houses on the east end of Hagersville. In addition to the new homes, the development would include a stormwater management pond, pumping station, a woodlot, and a recreational trail system. The proposal would see David Street extended, with a connection to King Street East on the other side.
