Updates to Wildlife Damage Compensation Program

Following consultation with farmers, farm organizations, municipal investigators and predation experts, the provincial government has made significant updates to the Ontario Wildlife Damage Compensation Program to support farmers who lose livestock to predators.

Haldimand-Norfolk MPP Toby Barrett acknowledged the important work done under Minister of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs Ernie Hardeman’s leader-ship to address farmers’ concerns.

“We were told changes were needed to make the process of getting compensation clearer and more transparent.

“Program updates will make sure it works for eligible farmers without adding extra red tape,” said Barrett.
