Vaccinations for kids at MPSS after chicken pox case

CALEDONIA—After a student from McKinnon Park Secondary School (MPSS) was diagnosed with the chicken pox, nurses from the Haldimand Norfolk Health Unit visited the school on September 9 and 10, 2019 to provide vaccinations.

“It’s not a large number of students that are impacted,” said Matt Terry of Norfolk County, noting that it was still unknown how many students did not receive the vaccination already.

The chicken pox vaccine has been available in schools since 2004. It requires two vaccination shots to be effective.
