HAGERSVILLE—The West Haldimand General Hospital Auxiliary celebrated their reopening of the Café and Gift Shop on Wednesday, November 16, 2022 following an extended pandemic-related closure. The public was invited to enjoy a bowl of chili and to give thanks that the auxiliary can come together again. The group also services the front lobby desk, helping people find their way in the hospital. The café and gift shop is open Monday to Friday, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Pictured are volunteers Gladys Goobie, Jo-Ann Duns, Ellen Craddock, Dianne Strohm, Sharon Scime-Miarczynski, Dale Vecero, and Betty Peirson. Duns said, “There are many new products … as local knitters and sewers have been busy.” She encouraged passersby to “drop by and take a look” at their great selection of gifts under $50: “All proceeds go back to the hospital for much-needed equipment.
